Clos Cachet x Omnia: Burgundy Wine Dinner

  • Bromley Gallery 617 Chapel Street South Yarra, VIC, 3141 Australia (map)

Dive into the terroirs of Burgundy on Thursday 10 July as Omnia teams up with Clos Cachet Fine Wines to present 7 impressive Burgundy wines paired with a carefully curated four-course menu, concluding with a curated cheese course.

The dinner will begin with a glass of Champagne Pierre Paillard, a Grand Cru straight from the heart of the village of Bouzy expressing lovely saltiness and freshness with a gentle and frothy mousse. As this settles the palate for an evening of indulgence you will be served your first course alongside the Domaine 47N3E Chablis 'Cairn', your first introduction to the Burgundy region with this mineral and structured Chardonnay full of engaging floral notes. With another flight of Chardonnay to follow, it is the Pierre-Henri Rougeot range that is poured for you next allowing for a delightful comparison between a Saint Romain and a Meursault. You will be able to find fine clean acidity in one and an attractively long finish on the other.

As the Omnia chefs continue to serve culinary classics with a fine-dining twist, you will dive into the evening's Pinot Noirs. Two Pierre Girardin cuvees will be poured next, with a Premier Cru from Pommard offering a full and velvety mouth and a Premier Cru Nuits-Saint-Georges with a gorgeous nose of blueberry and violet. Then as the palate expands across the Cote d'Or, we venture to Mercurey and Volnay to complete the evening. Domaine Corcia's Mercurey delivers aromas of cherries and spices feeding into a giving and enveloping palate, feeding into the Premier Cru Volnay by Domaine Rougeot with its direct and impressive representation of Pinot Noir.

A truly decadent evening for those that enjoy a glass or two of Burgundy alongside a fine meal.
